Meet Our Board Of Directors

The Board of Directors oversee the governance of the credit union. Key responsibilities include hiring and managing the President/CEO; approving the strategic plan; and ensuring the safety and soundness of the credit union. In order to fulfill the governance function, the Board utilizes committees focused on key areas of operations and financial management. For example, the supervisory committee oversees the internal and external audit functions to ensure the soundness of the credit union and the safety of member assets.

Board members serve as volunteers representing the member-owners. Board members must live or work in Brevard or Volusia County and be members of the credit union.

Planning for the Future

The Associate Board Member (ABM) position creates a pipeline of qualified and available Board members for succession planning purposes. The ABM gains expertise and knowledge of how the Board governs a $750 million financial institution while expanding their professional network and strengthening their resume. Overall, many professionals find Board service both personally and professionally rewarding.

ABMs participate in monthly board meetings along with serving on a board committee. There are also fall and spring strategic planning sessions and extensive training opportunities. Once the initial training curriculum is completed, four to six hours a month are typically required of Board members. ABMs are provided with opportunities to attend industry conferences and online training.

The recruiting of ABMs occurs annually from early April until mid-May. Candidates must live or work in Brevard or Volusia County.  For 2018, the Board of Directors’ seeks candidates with expertise in one of the following areas:

  • Information Technology
  • Finance/Accounting
  • Strategic Planning
  • Marketing Management
  • Senior Management
